Editorial independence

Wanderlane is an independent publication. We do not accept payment, products or services in exchange for coverage. No company has ever paid to be mentioned on this Site, and none ever will. Our editorial decisions about what to cover, and what to recommend, are made entirely by our editorial team based on first-hand experience.

How we make money

The Site is supported by two sources of revenue:

• Display advertising served by third-party advertising partners, including Journey by Mediavine. We do not control which specific ads appear and we do not receive payment from individual advertisers.
• Affiliate links from a small number of partners (for example, hotel and gear retailers). When you click a clearly marked affiliate link and make a purchase, we may receive a small commission at no additional cost to you.

Our affiliate-link rules

• We only link to products and services we would recommend without the affiliate relationship.
• Affiliate links are disclosed near the link or at the top of articles that contain them.
• We do not write articles specifically to drive affiliate revenue.
• Our recommendations are based on first-hand use, not affiliate-program payouts.
